🪱 Red Wiggler Composting Worms (Eisenia fetida) – Tiger Worms
Prepared/Shipped with care from the midlands of South Carolina
Turn bedding + food into living soil with nature’s best composters.
Our pure-bred Red Wigglers (Eisenia fetida) — also known as Tiger Worms for their distinct striping and voracious appetite — are the gold standard for vermicomposting. Whether you're starting a home worm bin, enriching your garden, or building living soil in your greenhouse, these worms work overtime to recycle organic waste into nutrient-rich castings.
🌱 Why Eisenia fetida?
- Species: Eisenia fetida (not Lumbricus rubellus or European Nightcrawlers)
- Lifespan: Up to 4–5 years in ideal conditions
- Habitat Preference: Surface-dwellers — thrive in moist, rich organic matter (NOT deep soil burrowers)
- Reproduction: Hermaphroditic; cocoons hatch in 3–4 weeks, doubling your population every 90 days under optimal conditions
- Temperature Range: 55°F to 77°F optimal, but survive 40°F to 90°F
- pH Tolerance: Ideal between 6.5–7.5
- Moisture Content: 70–90% (they breathe through their skin!)

At Bloom & Garden, we believe regenerative practices start beneath your feet. Our Soil Wrangler™ Red Wigglers help turn waste into life — one worm cast at a time.

What Is the Bin to Garden Movement?
The Bin to Garden movement is all about turning your food scraps into fertile soil using worms—specifically red wigglers. Instead of tossing organic waste in the trash, you feed it to a worm bin where it’s transformed into nutrient-rich castings. The result? Healthier soil, thriving plants, and a closed-loop system that starts in the bin and ends in your garden. It’s composting with a purpose—and the earth loves it.
